25 クリスマスは日没まで♪

クリスマスは、クリスマス・イヴと呼ばれる12月24日夕刻から、12月25日の日没までなんだ♪

なぜなら、ユダヤ教の暦、ローマ帝国の暦、これらを引き継いだキリスト教の教会暦は、日没が一日の境目となるからなんだ♪

　　　　　　

クリスマスツリーの習慣は、中世ドイツで、クリスマスにアダムとイヴの物語を演じた際に、舞台に、エデンの園として樹木を飾った事に由来しているらしい♪　

イルミネーションとしてしばしば円錐形のツリーをみかけるけれども、やはり樹木のツリーが最高に美しく感じるのはエデンの園由来だからかな♪

イエスがヘロデ王の代に、ユダヤのベツレヘムでお生れになったとき、見よ、東からきた博士たちがエルサレムに着いて言った、「ユダヤ人の王としてお生れになったかたは、どこにおられますか。わたしたちは東の方でその星を見たので、そのかたを拝みにきました」。マタイによる福音書2:1-2（口語訳）

新約聖書にはキリストの誕生日を特定する記述は無い。だからクリスマスは「キリストの誕生日」というより「キリストの降誕を祝う日」なんだ♪

西暦1年は、キリストの生まれた年で、紀元前を表すB.C.は「Before Christ」つまり「キリスト前」という意味。しかしキリストが生まれた年は、紀元前8年から紀元6年ごろまでと、諸説存在するんだ。
